Declaration:
It is to be noticed that all the samples of the dataset “Colluding App Dataset for Android (CADDroid)” which we provide on this website are created and tested in our own research lab and not being collected from any other repositories. The samples are created with good will and not to aid any unethical/unprofessional practices.
Dataset Details:
The dataset comprises of 76 pairs of colluding apps in APK format. It is worth mentioning that the dataset contains: (i) 24 app pairs that use AIDL; (ii) 24 app pairs that use Unix Socket; (iii) 26 app pairs that use Sticky Broadcast; and (iv) 2 app pairs that use WebView; to achieve the colluding behavior. The specialty of the dataset is that, it is:
- Big: It contains 152 manually created colluding app samples.
- Compatible: Each sender app has a unique receiver app. This will facilitate the detection methodology to be developed to learn the diverse colluding pattern in an efficient manner.
- Active: When one installs them (both the sender and corresponding receiver app) together on devices with specific API levels, they can covertly extract sensitive information at ease.
- Proficient: The samples can extract 31 distinct types of sensitive information from the installed device in real-time.
Dataset Distribution Details:
We will provide free access to the dataset to the research community only for research purposes and not for any unethical/unprofessional practices. Those who wish to get access to our dataset can send a request mail (only from their official/institutional mail id) to our mail ids: balakrishnan@nitt.edu, balakrishnanr1987@gmail.com, vdhivya@nitt.edu, vdhiviraj@gmail.com by attaching the consent form and stating the following details:
- Name and professional affiliation with full office address.
- Name, professional affiliation with full office address of the research supervisor/institute head, and link to their official webpage.
- Purpose of collecting the dataset.
